Our Team
Four specialists in studio design, sound, lighting and camera systems, working out of York. Each one leads a part of the work and writes or teaches what they know.
The people behind the work
Four specialists cover studio design, sound, lighting and camera systems, and each leads the part of a project they know best. Based in York since 2014, we work with television networks and live crews who need practical, plainly explained guidance.

The principles behind how the team approaches each job
Our four specialists come from different corners of audiovisual production, yet they share a few habits that shape every project. A studio plan, a lighting rig or a festival run sheet is only useful if the crew can follow it on the day. These principles guide how we write, build and check our work, from the first site visit in York to the last page of a training guide.
- 01
Clarity
Every plan we hand over is written so a producer, a technical director and a junior operator can all read it. Helen's cabling schedules, Priya's rig plans and Callum's signal flow diagrams use plain labels, agreed terms and one version, so nobody has to guess what a symbol or a channel name means.
- 02
Reliability
Broadcast and live work leaves little room for second attempts, so we build in checks. James tests audio chains before doors open, Priya checks load and power against the venue, and Callum rehearses camera control with the crew. We would rather find a fault on a quiet afternoon than during transmission.
- 03
Craft
We care about the small details that make a space or a show run well: cable routes that stay tidy, monitor levels set sensibly, lighting that looks right on screen as well as in the room. Our guides and workshops pass that practical knowledge on, so crews can keep improving after we have left.
